How we keep meets going
Read before you roll in. These keep venues open to us and everyone safe.
These rules are enforced. Organizers and venue staff can remove anyone who ignores them, and serious or repeat violations mean a ban from future meets. Following them is how we keep getting invited back.
Venue respect
- Treat every lot, business, and property owner as a guest would. These spaces are borrowed, not ours.
- Park only in marked spots and never block entrances, fire lanes, or handicap access.
- If a business is open, keep aisles and storefronts clear for their customers.
Traffic flow
- Enter and exit slowly and follow the direction organizers set for the lot.
- No stopping in travel lanes to show off or line up for photos.
- Keep public roads leading to the meet moving - do not roll in as a convoy that blocks intersections.
Staff & organizer instructions
- 717 Underground staff and venue security have the final word. Do what they ask, when they ask.
- Look for the marshals in marked gear - they direct parking, spacing, and departures.
- If you're asked to move, turn something down, or leave, comply first and raise concerns after.
Noise
- Keep music and exhaust at a neighborly level, especially near homes and after dark.
- Some venues sit close to residential streets - excess noise is the fastest way to lose a location.
- Kill loud idling if organizers call for quiet.
Revving
- No sitting and revving for attention. It rattles neighbors and draws complaints.
- Blip to move, not to perform. Constant throttle bouncing gets you asked to leave.
Burnouts & tire abuse
- No burnouts, donuts, or drifting anywhere on or around the property.
- One clip is not worth the whole meet - this is the rule that closes lots permanently.
- This applies in the lot, at the exit, and on the roads nearby.
Alcohol & substances
- No open alcohol and no drug use at meets. Meets are all-ages and public.
- Do not show up impaired. If you're not fit to drive, you're not welcome to roll in.
Trash & cleanup
- Leave the location cleaner than you found it - bag your trash and take it with you if bins are full.
- No dumping oil, cans, wrappers, or vape debris on the ground.
- If everyone grabs one extra piece of litter on the way out, the venue invites us back.
Harassment & conduct
- Everyone is welcome regardless of car, budget, background, or experience. No gatekeeping.
- No harassment, slurs, intimidation, or unwanted contact - toward attendees, staff, or the public.
- Ask before photographing people up close, and respect a no.
Dangerous behavior
- No street racing, speeding, or reckless driving near the meet - full stop.
- No riding on hoods, roofs, tailgates, or hanging out of moving vehicles.
- Keep a safe gap between cars and spectators at all times.
Police & property-owner compliance
- If police or the property owner ask the meet to end or move, it ends or moves immediately.
- Stay calm, be respectful, and don't argue - our reputation keeps future meets possible.
- Follow all posted signs and any lawful instruction from authorities on site.
Photography & media
- Photographers and videographers are welcome - shoot cars freely, shoot people with consent.
- Don't block traffic flow or stage shots in active lanes.
- Tag 717 Underground so we can share the community's work.
Consequences for violations
- First warning is a warning - but organizers can skip straight to removal for anything dangerous.
- Ignoring staff, doing burnouts, driving recklessly, or harassing others means you're done for the night.
- Repeat or serious offenders are banned from future 717 Underground meets.
